Wellness Exams & Vaccinations

We are here to work with you to help keep your pet healthy. Our doctors provide comprehensive physical examinations for new pets, annual wellness, senior care, and medical conditions. Pets age faster than humans, which makes regular exams extremely important for their health. We work with you to monitor the health of your pet and ensure they live a long and happy life.

Vaccinations Vaccinations are important to help protect your pet and give them longer, healthier lives. Rabies vaccines are required by law for pets since this disease poses a public health risk. There are other vaccines we may recommend based on your pet’s lifestyle, which can change throughout their life. We will work with you to customize a vaccine schedule and booster routine for your pet that will keep them healthy.

Dental Care

Dental health is an important part of every pet’s overall well-being. To help prevent dental disease, we recommend routine professional dental cleanings. During the procedure, we clean and polish your pet’s teeth above and below the gum line to remove plaque and tartar buildup. This helps prevent and treat gum inflammation while promoting long-term oral health. We also evaluate for periodontal pockets, tooth decay, and other dental conditions below the gum line. Digital dental radiographs allow us to examine the tooth roots and jawbone, helping us identify problems that cannot be seen during a visual examination. If we discover any dental concerns, we will discuss our findings with you and develop a treatment plan to relieve pain and support your pet’s long-term health.

All of our dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia in accordance with recommendations from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). If you have concerns about anesthesia, our team is happy to discuss the risks and benefits with you so you can make an informed decision about your pet’s care.

Surgery

When your pet requires surgery, their safety and comfort are our highest priorities. We provide a wide range of surgical services, including spays and neuters, mass removals, biopsies, eyelid correction procedures, and other soft tissue surgeries. Every patient receives individualized care, and we carefully evaluate your pet’s overall health before recommending any surgical procedure. Our team will discuss your pet’s treatment options with you, answer your questions, and work together to determine the best plan for their health and well-being.

Dr Pup

Puppy & Kitten Care

In addition to plenty of love and attention, your new puppy or kitten needs a healthy start with regular veterinary care. Young pets require a series of vaccinations as their immune systems develop, along with routine wellness exams and parasite prevention. Even if your new companion appears perfectly healthy, we’re here to answer your questions about housetraining, socialization, nutrition, behavior and training, parasite prevention, pet insurance, spaying or neutering, and everything else that comes with welcoming a new pet into your family.

If possible, please send any vaccination or medical records before your appointment. If you’re unable to send them in advance, simply bring any records you have to your first visit. We’ll review your pet’s vaccination and deworming history and work with you to develop a personalized preventive care and vaccination schedule.

Microchipping

Unlike a collar or identification tag, which can be lost, damaged, or accidentally placed on another pet, a microchip provides permanent identification for your pet. About the size of a grain of rice, the microchip contains no battery or internal power source and is safely implanted just beneath the skin between the shoulder blades during a quick, routine procedure. At Riverlin Animal Hospital, we use HomeAgain microchips and have a universal scanner that can detect microchips from any manufacturer. Even if your pet has a different brand of microchip, it can still be registered with HomeAgain, one of the nation’s largest pet recovery registries, helping improve the chances of a safe reunion if your pet is ever lost.

Pain can present in many different ways and may be either acute or chronic. Whether your pet is experiencing abdominal pain, recovering from a broken limb, living with arthritis, or dealing with another painful condition, we are committed to treating both the underlying cause and your pet’s discomfort. Our team will help you recognize the signs of pain and work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your pet’s individual needs, using safe, effective, and compassionate pain management options.

Hospice & Euthanasia Services

We believe that end-of-life care should be approached with compassion, dignity, and respect for both pets and the families who love them. As pet owners ourselves, we understand how difficult these moments can be, and we are committed to keeping your pet as comfortable as possible throughout every stage of life. When the time comes that no further treatment can provide a good quality of life, our team is here to help you evaluate your pet’s comfort, discuss your options, and support you in making one of the most difficult decisions a pet owner can face. Our goal is to make your pet’s final moments as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

The loss of a beloved pet can be deeply painful for every member of the family. Grieving is a natural part of saying goodbye, and you do not have to go through it alone. We are happy to provide resources, answer your questions, and offer support whenever we can. At Riverlin Animal Hospital, we are honored to care for your pets throughout their lives and to be there for you when it is time to say goodbye.

Fully Stocked Pharmacy

We strive to maintain a fully stocked in-house pharmacy to meet both the medical and preventive care needs of our patients. Our goal is to provide convenient access to the medications and products your pet needs so treatment can begin as quickly as possible. To prescribe or dispense prescription medications, state law requires that we maintain a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR), which includes a physical examination of your pet within the previous 12 months.

We also carry a variety of prescription diets from trusted veterinary brands and can help you choose the nutritional plan that best supports your pet’s health and specific medical needs.
